St. Louis is home to The Fabulous Fox Theatre, a beautiful theatre built in 1929. Reportedly designed to resemble the Hindu Temples in India, it is definitely a unique place to visit. Check out this photo gallery of some of the amazing architectural details inside the Fox Theatre.
The shows that come to the Fox Theatre are also pretty amazing. It draws big names and a variety of different acts every year. They have several Broadway show scheduled for this year, including Grease, Wicked, and The Color Purple. Other upcoming shows are Chicago, Mama Mia, and Legally Blonde. They also host a number of concerts every year, as well as The Nutcracker presented by the Joffrey Ballet, a holiday tradition that everyone should see! Check out their calendar of upcoming shows for more information. They also offer a fancy pre-show buffet with all-you-can-eat Prime Rib and more. And, the award-winning City Diner is set to open a second location next door to the Fox Theatre soon, so be on the lookout for that sometime in March!
I have been to a lot of great shows there; the acoustics are awesome and the décor alone makes it a worthwhile place to visit. The next show I’m planning to catch is Eddie Izzard, who will be there on January 9th. We have pretty good seats in the orchestra section, so I’m excited about that!
Prices vary based on the show, but there are discount programs for students and seniors.
